My career spans two decades and two countries - my homeland, Brazil, and my chosen home, the U.S.
I have been
working as a translator since 1980. I have also enjoyed
a 9-year career in international banking, twenty-odd years as a
language instructor, and three years in the Internet field as manager
creating, deploying, editing content for banking and marketing
companies. These experiences have influenced and enriched my work in both translation
and interpreting.
Being
an active member of American Translators Association, I've enjoyed the
privilege of serving my profession as president of Florida Chapter
(2002-2003), assistant administrator of the Interpreters Division
(2003-2005), and I am honored to have been elected Administrator of the
Interpreters Division for the 2005-2007 term. In January 2010 I co-founded the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Florida and became the first PR Committee Chair.
